Authorities Unite to Support Safe Delivery of WG27

A coordination meeting with the portuguese Internal Security System (SSI) took place on 18 March, marking the official kick-off of security planning for the World Gymnaestrada 2027.

The session, convened by the SSI, brought together a full auditorium of institutional representatives, including the Secretary of State for Sport, Portuguese Institute for Sport and Youth (IPDJ) and Lisbon City Council (CML), alongside national and municipal police and security forces.

During the meeting, organisers presented a comprehensive overview of the World Gymnaestrada 2027, outlining the scale and characteristics of the event, as well as the current stage of preparation. Key operational and security considerations were introduced, with initial critical points identified to support early planning and coordination among stakeholders.

This first high-level meeting represents an important step in the integrated planning process, bringing together all relevant authorities to support the successful delivery of the World Gymnaestrada 2027.
