Lisbon welcomes more than 30 National Federations for the 2nd Information Meeting
The second World Gymnaestrada 2027 InfoMeeting took place in Lisbon on 3 and 4 July. On this occasion, the meeting transitioned from a virtual format to an in-person event, with the vibrant and welcoming city of Lisbon providing the perfect backdrop.
This was a strategically planned meeting that brought together representatives of the World Gymnastics governing bodies and members of the WG27 Organising Committee to advance preparations for the world’s largest gymnastics event.
Approximately 60 delegates representing 35 countries were welcomed to Lisbon, where they had the opportunity to visit the various venues that will host the event.
The site visits included the MEO Arena, the Lisbon International Fair (FIL), Restelo Stadium, the University Stadium, and one of the schools that will serve as participant accommodation during the event.
“This was an extremely important milestone in the planning process, as it gave us a clear overview of the current stage of the organisation. In the preceding days, while meeting with the World Gymnastics Gymnastics for All Committee, we reviewed every aspect of the event in detail. The feedback was very positive, both from the Committee and from the national federations that attended the meetings over the following days,” said Teresa Loureiro, Executive Director of WG27.
The meeting concluded with a memorable boat cruise on the River Tagus, which participants described as a key milestone in strengthening preparations for their participation in the World Gymnaestrada 2027.
